The Roulette, comes from the French homonymous word that means "small wheel".
The game was first played in a casino in Persia, while in France its first official appearance was in 1765 in Paris.
In 1842 the zero (single "0") was introduced in the game.
Because of the forbiddance of gambling in France during that time, Roulette was transferred in Hamburg of Germany.
The double zero ("00") was introduced tripling the percentage for the casino and discouraging the players.
American Roulette (with 00) never became that popular for that reason.
